The Professional Women's Initiative of Galena is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing women with a forum to support each other in personal and professional growth. Members are encouraged to network, form alliances, support, and mentor one another. Above all else, PWI is about kicking up those heels and having fun!
People of all background are joining PWI. Membership is for everyone, including budding entrepreneurs, business managers and executives, artists, volunteers, and retirees.
Everyone has their own networks. Members are encouraged to invite their contacts to monthly meetings to further expand their networks through meeting others. We are enhancing skills and making new opportunities through supporting each other in a po sitive atmosphere.
Monthly luncheons begin with registration and a time for networking followed by lunch and guest speakers. Each member will have the opportunity to give a "30 second commercial" promoting their business or discuss a special event or discuss a special event or fund-raiser.
Luncheons are held on the second Wednesday of each month at the Ramada Inn in Galena from 11:30-1:00. Experts speak on topics such as communication skills, public speaking, healthy eating and cooking, stress reduction and more.
Our newsletter offers the latest on today's women, upcoming events and profiles on members and leaders.
Special annual events include a women's leadership conference and a holiday party. The annual Woman of Influence award is given to one inspirational member.
